Copyright & Responsible Use

Pitch to Staff is a general-purpose audio-to-score tool. It has no public audio-upload library and does not grant permission to use music that belongs to someone else.

Composition and recording rights

A recorded performance and the underlying musical work may have different copyright owners. You are responsible for deciding whether you may process a recording and whether permission, a licence or a legal exception applies to your proposed use. Creating a MIDI file or score with Pitch to Staff does not itself grant the right to copy, publish, arrange, redistribute, publicly perform or commercialize third-party music.

Original recordings and generated outputs

Selected recordings and transcriptions are processed in your browser and are not published to a hosting library by the application. Pitch to Staff does not claim ownership of the music you supply. Your use of an output remains subject to any rights that apply to its source recording, composition and creative contributions. The tool does not decide who owns copyright in a generated transcription.

Website materials, software and attribution

Original design and project-created website material are protected to the extent allowed by applicable law. Third-party code and model assets retain their original authors' rights and are available under the licences stated on our Third-party licences page and in the included licence texts. This site is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Spotify, Google or the other named open-source contributors.

Copyright concerns

To report potentially infringing material published on this website or an attribution problem, email support@pitchtostaff.com with the URL/material, the rights involved, a clear explanation and contact information. We will review substantiated reports and take appropriate action. Because the transcription tool does not host a public collection of users' recordings or scores, we cannot remove locally stored files from visitors' devices.
