Terms of Use

Pitch to Staff is an independently operated music transcription service provided under an Ontario-registered business name by a sole proprietor. These terms apply to use of pitchtostaff.com. Contact: support@pitchtostaff.com.

Free software and its limitations

The transcription tool is free to use without an account or payment. It estimates notes, rhythm, pitch and notation from a recording in your browser; results can be wrong or incomplete, including note starts, durations, octaves, chords, tempo and notation. Review results before using them. Processing speed and availability depend on your device, browser and recording; resource-intensive files can fail on low-memory devices. Save any exported MIDI or other files you want to keep. We do not provide cloud storage or guaranteed backups.

Your recordings and rights

You are responsible for having a lawful basis to process any recording and use the resulting transcription. Compositions and sound recordings may involve separate rights owners. Use of this tool does not grant rights to reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, commercially exploit, or publish copyrighted music. We do not take ownership of the source music or your own lawful creative material. Do not abuse the site, bypass security measures, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with other visitors.

Voluntary contributions

Contributions are voluntary support for the project, not required payment for a product or service and do not provide paid features, subscriptions, priority service, or guarantees. Checkout is hosted by Stripe; confirm the contribution amount and currency on the Stripe page before payment. Pitch to Staff is not a registered charity and contributions are not charitable donations eligible for official charitable tax receipts.

Refunds

Contact support@pitchtostaff.com if your contribution was accidental, duplicated, or for an unintended amount. Provide the date, amount and a Stripe receipt or transaction reference, but not card details. We will review the request and, where appropriate, issue a full or partial refund through Stripe to the original payment method. Additional requests are considered individually in accordance with applicable law. Stripe and your financial institution control when an issued refund appears on your statement. This policy does not limit non-waivable consumer rights.

Availability and responsibility

We make reasonable efforts to maintain the site, but provide the tool as available, without promises of uninterrupted operation or correct transcription. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pitch to Staff disclaims warranties and liability for errors or lost opportunities arising from use of the tool. Nothing in these terms removes remedies, consumer protections or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Law and changes

The service operates from Ontario, Canada. Ontario and applicable Canadian law govern these terms insofar as permitted, without overriding mandatory rights that apply where you live. Terms may be updated to reflect service changes; the effective date will be revised. Email support@pitchtostaff.com with questions.
