Privacy

This privacy notice describes how Pitch to Staff, an Ontario-registered business name operated as a sole proprietorship, handles information when you visit pitchtostaff.com, use the music transcription tool, send a support request, or make an optional contribution. For privacy requests contact support@pitchtostaff.com.

Audio and music processing

Audio you select is decoded and analyzed within your browser using code and a model downloaded from the website. The application is designed not to send your selected audio, inferred notes, or generated score to Pitch to Staff servers for transcription. The app provides no account, public audio upload, or cloud project archive. Downloads such as MIDI and JSON are saved by your browser to your device. Audio and score data can remain in memory until you close, reload, or navigate away from the page.

Settings on your device

The application uses browser local storage to remember your visual theme under pitchToStaffTheme. It does not currently store audio files or reusable transcriptions as projects. To support offline operation after a successful first visit, a service worker uses the browser's Cache Storage to keep this website's pages, images, locally hosted scripts, and neural-model files on your device. This offline cache contains no selected audio recordings, transcription results, or generated score files. Your browser may remove the cache, and you can remove it by clearing this site's stored data. Your browser or device may also retain downloaded files or its own history.

Hosting and technical records

Our website is hosted by DreamHost. As you connect, the host can receive IP address, requested page and asset URLs, browser/device and network details, timestamps, and server error or access logs needed to deliver, secure, maintain and troubleshoot the site. Hosting logs are retained in accordance with the hosting provider's operational practices and any applicable backup and legal requirements; we do not promise a universal log-deletion period. See DreamHost's privacy policy. Website technical data may be processed outside Canada.

Voluntary Stripe contributions

Clicking the contribution link takes you to a separate Stripe-hosted checkout. Stripe collects the payment and verification information needed for the transaction under its privacy policy. This site does not receive your full payment card number. The operator can access transaction details such as amount, currency, date, transaction/receipt identifiers, status and relevant customer/contact information made available by Stripe to reconcile payments, issue receipts/refunds, handle disputes and maintain accounting records. Payments are optional and do not unlock transcription features.

Support, privacy and copyright enquiries

When you send email to support@pitchtostaff.com, we receive the contact details and content you choose to send and use them to reply, resolve reported issues and maintain necessary records. Email may be processed by our mail provider. Please avoid sending recordings, personal information unrelated to your request, passwords, or card numbers. Recordings and diagnostic files are not submitted automatically through the support page.

Website analytics

The website does not currently include an application-integrated analytics tracker. Our hosting provider may process traffic statistics based on server requests, as described above.

Disclosure and international handling

We share information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, including with our web host, email and payment-service providers. Service providers may process data in Canada or other countries and may be subject to applicable local laws. We may also disclose records when legally required, to respond to fraud or a security issue, or with your request or consent.

Retention and security

We keep support and transaction records for as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose, bookkeeping, dispute handling, legal obligations and appropriate security controls, and dispose of them when no longer necessary. We take reasonable precautions appropriate to the information involved; no website, email or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Locally processed audio is not available to us for recovery from a server.

Your privacy requests

Contact support@pitchtostaff.com to ask about access, correction or deletion of personal information we control, or to raise a privacy concern. We may request appropriate details to verify a request and locate records. Subject to applicable exceptions, we aim to respond within legally required periods, including the 30-day access-request period under PIPEDA where that law applies. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada about eligible complaints. Certain transaction or security records must be retained despite a request for deletion.

Changes and contact

If our services, processors or data practices materially change, we will update this page and its effective date. Related information: Terms and Support.
